An induction process is the first real glimpse that new employees have of the organisation. The induction process leaves a lasting effect on new hires and, if designed effectively, can shape and mould the perception and performance of that employee. The first days, weeks and months of a new employee are critical in determining their engagement and commitment to the organisation.

The induction process will be desinged to incorporate key elements of knowledge and skills a newcomer needs for a fast-track route to productivity. Various induction training sessions may be incorporated, as well as familiarisation programmes and job shadowing schedules.
